If you go back a few posts you may have seen the state of the art Malachi-Island website we did for the Malachi Trust. Incorporating the very latest in Flash based technology and artificial intelligence. What you may not have seen is the Branding that we did for the site, aimed at a youth audience of between 5 and 11 year olds, it was produced to be fun and friendly. After producing the branding and site we are now Malachi’s favourite London based Design Agency.

Well we like to keep our work diverse!!! So when we were asked to work with a TV presenter / Physicist who has a particular liking for blowing things up we were well up for the challenge.
Laura Grant Associates is a consultancy that focus on public engagement with science and engineering, they have done some incredible work with the teams at “Walking with robots” “ZeroCarbonCity” and Laura Grant herself is also one of the presenters on Discovery Channels “The Big Experiment”
So we set about creating a new and fresh brand for the company that represented the link with Science but also showed the delicateness and softness that was sometimes needed when communicating what can often be very complex information to the average member of the public.

Once the branding was all completed the next task on the agenda was to create an online presence for the company. So we produced this website, showcasing the type of work that Laura Grant Associates does, incorporating a fully bespoke backend content management system, that is very user friendly allowing the company to update their site whenever they want to.

Laura Grant was so impressed with the website that it even inspired her to create her own blog which is brilliant, with a fact every Friday like “One in four of all the living things on the planet is a beetle.” It is a must for our bookmarks!

Unfortunately it is fanmade, but the technical excellance behind it is impressive and I only hope this guy is now being paid lots of money in Hollywood……..I also hope they make this movie!!!! We were kindly invited to get involved with Carbon impacts. They were looking for a brand refresh and also a graphical update to their site. So we set about trying to communicate to the audience of stakeholders what they were all about.
In essence Carbon Impacts allow businesses (and individuals) to take charge of their carbon footprint. We all know we can’t suddenly stop using energy, but if we offset what we do use, it allows funding for renewable energy – we think a very good cause. Here is a quick sample of their new branding and the facelift that we did for their site.

Well as you may or may not have noticed we have been changing the late night salon’s branding, bringing it all up to date with a shiny new logo, as part of this we have some exciting new collateral that we are producing.
To wet your appettite we have started producing some new wallpapers for the team here at the late night salon, here’s the first in the series. But keep your eyes on the blog for the next thrilling installment.

We have been trawling through some of our old work and found these two interactive banner designs that we did to help promote the MTV Jackass computer game. The two banners were expandable, so as you hovered over them they expanded out and then you could play these two interactive flash games.The creative ideas were taken from the kinds of games that you could play on the full console versions, but given the late night salon touch.
Banner 1 gave you the opportunity to shoot fireworks, by selecting the angle, scoring points the further the firework went.
Banner 2 was like a fun fair style game, trying to shoot stevo, as the wheel span around.
The good news was that the campaign was very successful and drove loads of traffic to the websites, the bad news was that we had to tone the banners down and go with something that was a little more basic, we still love these one’s though as they really engaged the end user and had great stand out.

To support the launch of the new Pipemania game, the team at Empire asked us to come up with something that would would bring the game alive, so we set about coming up with something a bit special with a fully interactive website that offers downloads, demonstrations, an interactive island that means you can clean up the island as you navigate around it some clever little hidden Gems that would work across 5 different languages. A definate challenge!!!!

The guys at Empire came to us with a treat for our retro game loving team. Back in 1989 a game was released called Pipemania, a classic pixel perfect game where gameplay ruled! When fast forward to 2007 and the Empire team have updated and re – released the game with exciting new graphics and game play that keeps you addicted for hours it was always going to be a winner.
On this occassion the guys asked us for some help getting the game noticed. So we came up with a full campaign, including press ads, POS, direct mail and an on-line campaign for good measure. Here are some of our favourites from the original creative.

Adrem are a large design recruitment company based in London who offer a very personal service for their different audiences of Architects, Interior Designers, Graphic Designers and Product Designers as well as their clients who include some large agencies and architect practises .
Their problem was how to communicate the fact that although they served so many clients their service was still very bespoke to the individual and that they purely operated in the design industry, after many late nights and brain racking, the late night salon came up with a campaign called “DESIGNED FOR YOU” which seemed to fit quite well with the industry they operate in and the service they provide.
From this came a series of above the line press and out door ads, which were aimed specifically at the different audiences. There was some great coverage around the London underground which we sent one of our roving photographers out to capture, enjoy.

Yet another exciting project to work on with a company called Agent for Change. Their core aim is to support fashion designers whose collections are ethically or environmentally produced. They have some great designers on their books and are really making a change to the industry offering excellent products. Our favourite is iWood who use reclaimed wood from high end corporate jet interiors to make some cool looking glasses frames.
